For over 50 years, we have led the way in securing public land access and promoting sustainable hunting.
As Australia's foremost authority on wild deer management, the Australian Deer Association consistently advocates across all states and territories and at the federal level. Our efforts include meeting with politicians and decision-makers, making formal submissions, and providing expert testimony at parliamentary inquiries.
The Australian Deer Association is an apolitical organisation that focuses on delivering policy outcomes that reflect the sound management of wild deer and ensure that recreational hunting is sustainable, respected, and valued by the wider community and future generations.
Over the years, the Australian Deer Association has helped deliver public land access for recreational hunting in:
New South Wales
Tasmania
Victoria
Further public land wins have included helping to introduce Snake Island to the Blond Bay Hog Deer Ballot and unlocking 360,000ha of state forest in eastern Victoria.
The Australian Deer Association also fights to maintain public access against ideologically driven campaigns seeking to lock recreational hunters out of public land.
