Six species ended up establishing wild, free ranging populations.
Four of them are Asiatic species (chital, hog, rusa and sambar) and two are European (Red and Fallow).
There are now free ranging wild deer populations present in every state and territory of Australia.
The Australian Deer Association is interested in the management of these wild deer to minimise negative impacts and maximise positive impacts.
