Venison a big hit at Parliament

A big week in the Victorian State Parliament was capped off on Thursday, the 16th of November, with a barbeque to support the "Hunters for the Hungry" initiative, which had gathered widespread support across the political spectrum and passed the Legislative Council (Upper House) on Wednesday.

Shooters, Fishers, and Farmers MP Jeff Bourman introduced the motion, which garnered support from Labor and the Liberals and Nationals. Unfortunately, many of the cross-bench chose not to support the initiative, which will (when implemented) provide food from shot wild deer on government programs to foodbanks and help the most vulnerable and in need people in society.

This was a great example of industry collaboration working on a fantastic cause; congratulations to the SSAAV on sponsoring a noble event.
