As a 21-year-old, Ted attended the meeting when the Australian Deer Association (ADA) was formed in 1969. Since then, he has been deeply involved in deer hunting and deer-related activities in Australia and New Zealand with the support of his wife Judy. This has included being:

» A founding member of the Western Victorian Sub-branch and Branch President.

» President of the South-West Victorian Deer Advisory Group.

» Involved in deer management programs in Victoria and South Australia.

» Involved in running the Victorian Hunter Education program.

» A representative at many National Conferences.

» Co-ordinator of the ADA Antler Measuring Panel and Chief Measurer for 25 years.

» The trainer of the ADA Douglas scorers around Australia.

» The ADA representative at the South Pacific Douglas Score Conference in New Zealand in 1994.

» A contributor of many articles and photographs to Australian Deer magazine.

» A taxidermist dealing with numerous hunters and encouraging them to become members of ADA.

Ted’s long-standing commitment to the ideals and objectives of ADA and ongoing respect for the broader ADA membership has never wavered.
