The Australian Deer Association has a long history of advocating for recreational deer hunters and their role within the broader and regional economies.
Recreational hunting is one of the few activities that flow economic activity from the city to the regions, helping employ mums and dads in full-time jobs in regional centres.
Whilst announcing a free camping policy for paid campgrounds, the Victorian government recognised hunting as one of the key activities of public land users. The government’s press release states, "Camping and recreation contributes more than $2.1 billion a year to the Victorian economy and supports 20,000 jobs – most in regional communities.”
The Australian Deer Association encourages recreational use of the great outdoors. It tirelessly works towards unlocking and maintaining access to public land for recreational hunters. Announcements such as these help build the case for more recreational access to national parks that are currently restricted.
The Australian Deer Association will continue to advocate for additional access to national parks for recreational deer hunters.
