Have your say on the Draft Queensland Deer Strategy

None

The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is currently undergoing consultation on its Draft Feral (sic) Deer Management Strategy - 2022-2027

The wild deer in Queensland are not 'feral' and the draft document is not strategic and does not set any realistic goals for deer management.

It gets worse, the Draft grossly oversimplifies some good quality, nuanced and detailed research in order to fit a false narrative about recreational hunters and our role in wild deer management.

The ADA is preparing a submission to the Draft Strategy to point out these flaws and propose a sensible, evidence based approach to wild deer management that recognises and utilises recreational deer hunters.

The ADA's diverse membership is its great strength. We have developed a survey as a mechanism to gather feedback and data from Queensland based ADA members. The survey will take as little as four minutes to complete and will help to ensure that the Deer People have the best possible response.
