Location: Running Creek Camp Ground, Steiners Road, Howqua, VIC 3723 Typically accessible via 2WD at this time of year
Camp Details:
Facilities: Drop toilets at the campground.
Self-sufficiency: Attendees are expected to bring their own camping gear, food, and water for the weekend.
Saturday Dinner: The branch will provide a cooked meal on Saturday night.
Mentoring Opportunity:
Newer members have the chance for in-field mentoring, depending on the availability of experienced members.
Safety & Firearm Guidelines:
Blaze orange clothing is encouraged for safety while hunting.
Firearm Security: Firearms must be locked away while in camp. Use a buddy system to double-check each other's firearm safety and handling.
Public Land: This is a public land camp and hunting area; please ensure all hunting activities comply with public land regulations.
Communication: No mobile coverage in the camp area – use UHF Channel 24. Garmin Rino devices are also encouraged for navigation and communication.
Personal Safety: Camp times are a guide, and each attendee is responsible for their own safety while on site.

Running Creek Camp Ground is 31.2 km from Mansfield, approximately a 35-minute drive.
Mansfield provides essentials including petrol, IGA supermarket, Mansfield Hunting and Fishing, hospital, and medical services.
