Victoria’s peak hunting & shooting organisations are strengthening their historical ties by taking a joint approach to the 2022 Victorian State Election.
The Australian Deer Association, SSAA Victoria, and Field & Game Australia regularly work together and support each other on various issues. By taking a combined approach to the election, the peak organisations can ensure that the candidates for the election can give commitments that will deliver for Victoria’s 220,000+ hunters & shooters. It also means that hunters and shooters can be assured that the various sectional interests within their community are not played off against one another.
The peak organisations will be putting a suite of commitments forward for support and will be publishing the positions of the various candidates to members and the shooting community more broadly ahead of voting in November.
The package has been developed with expert policy advice. It includes initiatives to improve public land access and management, safeguard game hunting, improve shooting facilities, ensure robust consultation and promote hunting and shooting to the broader community.
