South Australian Nationals agree to a policy to reverse the upcoming bow ban.

None

At the South Australian National's recent state conference in July, hosted in Hahndorf, a motion was introduced condemning the state government's upcoming ban and calling for a policy to reverse it, particularly concerning introduced animals.

The motion was successfully carried.

The motion also recognised the value of people spending time outdoors and enjoying the best of what nature has to offer.

An evidence-based approach to policy is welcome, particularly at a time when this can appear to be the exception to the rule.

The Australian Deer Association has been advocating on behalf of bow hunting, including presenting at the SA inquiry as far back as 2021. This has not gone unnoticed, and the ADA submission provided an evidence base that helped the motion be passed into policy at the conference.

It is refreshing to see open and transparent policy settings in South Australia long before an election, given the sour taste and level of distrust created by the circumstances surrounding the controversial upcoming ban on bow hunting.
