The week of 18-24 May is National Volunteer Week.
In reality, every week is volunteer week at the Australian Deer Association. A small paid staff works under the direction of and to support the ADA's army of volunteers.
ADA members volunteer in a wide number of ways - all important, and all with common values and common support for our great mission. Some give us a day or two a year, some a day or two a month and some are doing work for ADA and the deer 365 days a year.
We lean very heavily on our volunteers and don't do nearly enough to thank them and to recognise their efforts.
To the branch committees and the hunter education team, to the deer management volunteers and the board members, to the magazine team and the antler measurers - to all of the deer people who give your time and skills so generously, you are all a part of the movement that gets the best results for Australian hunters - thank you all.
