National hunting camp postponed

None

Due to ongoing COVID-19 related restrictions in a many jurisdictions the ADA National Hunting Camp scheduled to commence on Friday 6 August at Shelley in Northern Victoria has been postponed.

The ongoing restrictions in Victoria in particular which place a limit on public gatherings and holiday companions, along with border restrictions in Victoria and other States, make staging the camp on 6 August would not be tenable.

Interest in the camp has been strong, 24 members (3 SA, 18 Vic, 1 ACT, 2 Regional NSW) had registered for the camp, for a total of 112 person-nights. This was an outstanding response given that all travel from NSW and ACT is prohibited. Usually NSW, ACT and Qld provided at least 50% of the camp’s numbers.

The camp co-ordinator, Bernd, is working closely with Shelley Camp’s permanent manager to find an alternative block of days to move the camp to.

It is likely that the camp will move into a late August time-slot. With another camp in the last week or two of September.

Members who had registered will be contacted directly with the alternative camp arrangements as soon as they are known.
