The ballot for public land hog deer hunting on Snake Island, Blond Bay and Boole Poole in 2022 was drawn last night at the SSAA Springvale Range.
One thousand eight hundred eighty-three hunters entered the draw this year, vying for 56 positions on Snake Island, 12 on Blond Bay and 12 on Boole Poole.
Hog deer legend Ron Mayze drew the ballot. Ron is the co-author of the definitive reference on hog deer (The Hog Deer) and has had hands-on involvement in hog deer management and research for over half a century.
The lucky hunters drawn in the ballot will be notified by email next week.
