From 11.59 pm tomorrow night (Wednesday) Regional Victoria will move to Stage 2 COVID-19 restrictions. National Parks re-opened for day visitors this morning.
This means that from Thursday, Regional Victoria will be “opened up” for Regional Victorians.
The four reasons to leave home will no longer apply and most businesses will re-open.
Most importantly for deer hunters who live in Regional Victoria, camping will once again be allowed.
There will be different arrangements for camping with shared facilities. Victoria's Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) confirmed each camping or caravan park booking was restricted to only people living in regional Victoria. Groups will be restricted to only members of a single household; or only intimate partners; or only members of a single household and a maximum of five members of another household part of the nominated "household bubble". In a statement DHHS said there were no restrictions of sharing kitchens, toilets and showers.
"Our national parks are putting the final preparations in place to open (for camping) safely and we will have more information on this shortly."
ADA is, of course, seeking more clarity on all of this and we will share it as soon as we have it.
Deer hunting is an important economic, social and environmental activity and we encourage all hunters who are able to, to get out and hunt.
