Michael Makushev’s rusa trophy taken in Queensland during 2011 is a truly impressive representative of the species and it scores very well under the Douglas System, coming in at Number 12 in the ADA’s list.
Symmetry plays an important part in the Douglas System and this is exemplified with this trophy as can be seen by comparing the measurements of the left and right antlers. Having two matched sets of basal tines that add an additional 8 1/4 points to the trophy’s score adds just a little icing to the cake.
