2021 Dargo venison workshop features biggest ever lineup

None

The Dargo community’s famous venison workshop returns bigger and better in 2021.

The small town of Dargo, nestled in a mountain valley in the Victorian alps, has been a magnet for serious sambar hunters for decades. In recent years, with an increased local population of deer driven by the disturbance of a series of major bushfires, the local Landcare group recognised that encouraging the use of venison was a great solution to some of the problems that come with having more deer.

The 2021 Venison workshop will be held at the Dargo River Inn on Saturday 28 August and will feature presentations from:

Beyond the Divide

Hunting tips with Rob Fickling

Hunt, Catch, Cook

Cooking demonstrations with Jason Spencer

Paul Boag’s Outdoors

A hands on deer butchery demonstration

Sausages Made Simple

Making smallgoods

Bill Barry and Cam Johnson

Taxidermy

As well as a trade show and childrens activities.

A Remington rifle will be raffled on the day.

Entry is $40 per person, $20 for kids under 15 or $100 for a family (2+2)
