Date: Friday 26 June 2026 Time: 6:30 PM Venue: North Hobart Bowls Club Corner Ryde and Letitia Streets, North Hobart
Join us for our June branch meeting, which promises to be an engaging evening of hunting stories, conservation discussions, and branch planning.
Members are encouraged to bring along any trophies taken during the current or previous hunting seasons. We also invite members who have taken trophies in years gone by to share a brief story about their hunt. Whether it was last season, twenty years ago, or even the one that got away, every hunting experience has something interesting to offer.
We will also hear from a group investigating the impacts of invasive Rainbow Lorikeets and the interbreeding of introduced Mallards with native duck species. Their presentation will cover current research and control strategies, providing valuable insight into these emerging wildlife management challenges.
The meeting will include discussion on the recently proposed changes to Tasmania’s deer management strategy and what these changes could mean for hunters and the future management of our deer herd.
Additionally, members will have the opportunity to discuss the future of the Southern Tasmania Branch. With only a small number of volunteers currently carrying much of the workload, additional support from members will be essential to ensure the branch remains active and sustainable into the future. All suggestions and ideas for strengthening the branch are welcome.
We look forward to seeing both regular attendees and new faces for what should be an informative and enjoyable evening.
