Camp Location

The hunt camp will be based at Sheeba Dams, located at 951 Barry Rd, Hanging Rock NSW 2340.

Facilities on-site include pit toilets, barbecues/fireplaces, and picnic tables. The area is accessible for caravans and camper trailers.

Getting There

Nundle is approximately 3 hours (250 km) from Edgeworth via the Hunter Freeway.

• As you enter Nundle, you’ll see the pub on your right at the main intersection. Continue straight ahead.

• Follow this road toward Ponderosa.

• Continue climbing the mountain to the entrance of Nundle Forest Way, on the left. This turn is roughly 7 km from the Nundle Pub.

• To your right, you’ll see signage to the Hanging Rock Lookout – well worth the detour.

• After turning left onto Nundle Forest Way, continue for approximately 9 km.

  Ponderosa will be on your right.

Hunting in the Area – DPI Requirements

Several forests in the region are available for licensed hunting, including Nundle, Hanging Rock, and Tuggalo to the east.

If you intend to hunt, you must be DPI compliant, including:

• Blaze orange clothing

• GPS/Avenza maps

• Letter of permission

• Current NSW DPI Game Hunting Licence

Those without a DPI licence are still welcome for the weekend. You may accompany licensed hunters and assist with carrying out game but must not participate in harvesting an animal.

Personal Equipment

All attendees must be fully self-sufficient, including:

• Camping gear

• Bedding

• Food and cooking equipment

• Lighting

  Keep in mind the area can be very cold, so pack appropriate warm clothing.

Safety Equipment

Recommended personal safety gear includes:

• First aid kit and snake bite bandage

• Personal Locator Beacon (PLB)

• Head torch

• Matches or lighter

• Extra food and water

• Lightweight fly sheet or similar emergency cover
