Hunter Valley Branch - Nundle State Forest Hunt Camp

Hunt camp will be Sheeba Dams located at 951 Barry Rd, Hanging Rock NSW 2340. Facilities include pit toilets, barbecue/fireplaces and picnic tables. The road/camping ground is suitable for caravans and camper vans. 

Direction.
Nundle is approx 3 hours, 250kms from Edgeworth (access to Hunter Freeway). On entering Nundle, the pub is on your right (intersection) continue straight through intersection (see attached maps) to Ponderosa. Continue following this road up the mountain to the entrance to Nundle Forest Way, on the left. This point is approx 7kms from Nundle Pub . To the right you will see signs to the Hanging Rock look out (worth a look). Once you have turned left continuing following Nundle Forest Way for approx 9kms. The Ponderosa is on your right.

Department of Primary Industries
There are several forests that can be hunted in the area. Nundle, Hanging Rock and to the east Tuggalo. If you are hunting all members must be DPI compliant. Blazed orange, GPS/Avenza, letter of permission. If you’re not DPI license, still more than welcome to come along for the weekend. Can accompany other hunters, but no part in harvesting an animal. You can assist in carrying the animal out.

Personal equipment.
All members must be self-sufficient, camping, food, lighting, cooking bedding the lot. Remember it can be very cold, so good warm gear.

Safety equipment.
It would be recommended that members have person gear
First aid, snake bite bandage.
Person Locating Beacon (PLB)
Head torch.
It's a good idea to carry gear so that if need be you can stay out overnight.
Matches/lighter. Food. Water. Fly sheet.
Tell another member the area you are hunting.
