The Brimboal State Forest is approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes from Geelong via Hamilton. (Hamilton will be your last opportunity to stop at a supermarket.)
The bush is much flatter than what we’re used to in the high country, with Fallow being the target species. We’ll be set up in the middle of huntable bush, but feel free to explore the surrounding patches of state forest by car, as they all hold deer. In the unlikely event of heavy rain prior to the trip, the ground off-track can become soft, so it's a good idea to remain on established tracks/roads until you arrive at camp.
Members of the committee will be there from either Thursday or Friday morning. If you have trouble locating the camp and there’s no reception, a UHF radio will be at camp on station 12.
Directions:
Starting at Coleraine, continue along the Glenelg Hwy for 23kms (15mins Approx.) Turn right at Casterton-Edenhope Road. Continue for 24.4kms (16mins Approx.) then turn left into the bush on Dergholm-Chetwynd Road. Drive 1.8kms then turn left down an unnamed track (this is where you will find one of our ADA Geelong Banners. Drive a further 1.5kms and camp will be set up in a clearing.
