On behalf of the leadership group of the Darling Downs Branch of the Australian Deer Association, we would like to invite you to our 2022 Annual General Meeting.
As a branch, most of our activity is out and about hunting with numerous opportunities each year to come together around a campfire, so the AGM is a rare opportunity for us to get together in a social context and make some decisions on the next year's direction for the branch, so with this in mind, I encourage as many of you to attend as possible.
In most years things remain fairly unchanged but this year is a little different. I along with Andrew Day our Treasurer and Hendrik Ferreira our Treasurer are standing down from our branch positions making way for other members to step forward and take a role. It’s important for branches to share the responsibilities to keep fresh ideas coming in so I encourage you to consider what you might be able to do for the branch as we seek a new team.
The jobs are not difficult and the outgoing team will be more than happy to support the new as they find their feet. It is a fantastic opportunity that comes with a lot of rewards by way of connections in the broader hunting industry. If anyone would like to discuss this further, please feel free to give me a call to discuss. There will also be support from the newly formed State Executive and of course the National Executive.
I have personally been on the branch or state exec now for around 10 years now and am proud of the things we have been able to do, the experiences we have provided and the health of the branch, both financially and with branch growth. I look forward to watching it do more under the guidance of others now.
Our AGM will be in the Toowoomba region at a location yet to be decided. The number of RSVPs will determine that.
Save the date. 19th of November for an evening meal and AGM.
You can self-nominate, or nominate another although it’s usually a good idea that that person agrees with you prior to you nominating them.
Voting for positions will be via a paper vote on the night.
If you can’t attend and would like to nominate a voting proxy, you are welcome to do so but you need to advise you proxy nominee in writing to dd.sec@austdeer.asn.au prior to the AGM .
Thanks again for all your support over the past years and I look forward to celebrating them and handing over the batton with you all on the evening of the 19th of November.
