Northern & Yorke Branch Officially Opens

The year 2019 is the 50th anniversary of the formation of the ADA, and today we celebrate the establishment of the Northern & Yorke Branch, ADA’s third branch in South Australia.

The Northern & Yorke Branch’s first function will be a shoot at the Wallaroo Rifle Club on Sunday, 13 January.

We welcome all ADA members (from any ADA branch) and invited guests to join us for this shoot; essential details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 13 January 2019.
Time: 10 AM for a 10.30 AM start (safety briefing at 10.20 AM).
Address: Cresco Road, Wallaroo.
Cost: $20 per shooter; BBQ provided at no additional cost.
No cost for under 18-year-old shooters or for the BBQ.
Format: Target shooting at 200 & 300 yards with hunting rifles of calibres above 6 mm and below 8 mm.

There will be a shoot both before and after lunch.
The number of rounds fired will be dictated by the number of participants.
To prevent undue wear of barrels, shot strings will be restricted to 5 consecutive rounds at a time.
All shooting will be from a prone position (i.e. laying on the ground) with any kind of support, i.e. bipod or sandbags etc.
Rifle Association rules must be strictly followed; i.e. single load only, and the bolt must be removed from the rifle whilst going to and leaving the shooting-station.

Wallaroo Rifle Club has the latest tech facilities , so no-one will be required to work in the pits.

Please don’t forget to bring enough ammunition and hearing protection, as well as protection against sunburn.

This will be a family-friendly event and we encourage you to bring your entire family and guests.
NB: For those without a firearms licence, it will still be possible to fully participate under the supervision of a responsible licence holder.

For the young kids there will be a water-pistol competition.  So everyone will be catered for, and all should have a ball.

We hope to see you soon.
