About the ADA
Hunting and fishing are as old as mankind.
With increasing urbanisation and growth of the "concrete jungle", more and more people are returning to their roots by joining the great outdoor adventure - recreational hunting. In Australia, deer are recognised as the ultimate hunting challenge. Are you ready to participate in the great outdoor adventure?

The Australian Deer Association Inc (ADA)
is a national hunting and deer conservation organisation established in 1969 specifically to promote our wild deer herds and recreational deer hunting. Australians would not enjoy the deer hunting opportunities that are, available today without the efforts of groups such as the ADA.

The ADA's members are dedicated
to the retention of habitat for deer and other wildlife, the preservation and extension of public access to bushland and the management of deer as a recreational resource. ADA believes that the long-term welfare of the deer comes before short term interests of hunters and takes a strong stand against cruelty and irresponsible hunters. Ethical hunting is a condition of membership and all members must abide by the ADA's Code of Conduct.

ADA now has members in all Australian States as well as overseas. Local branches are established in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Australian Capital Territory. There is undoubtedly a branch near you!

ADA has a long history of deer research and conservation work, lobbies for access to hunting areas and increased hunting opportunity and conducts comprehensive hunter education programs, meetings and other activities. Amongst politicians, public servants and the general public ADA has a reputation for effective and constructive action. ADA has also injected a great deal of common sense into recent debates on animal welfare and green issues.

Recreational deer hunting is Australia's greatest hunting adventure. Hunting success only comes to those who are willing to study their quarry, profit from their mistakes, learn to love the wild outdoors and be persistent in adversity.
